Roberta Hughes Wright Memorial Golf Classic Join us Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Lakes of Taylor Golf Course in Taylor for the Roberta Hughes Wright Memorial Golf Classic! This fun-filled day of golf, food, and a silent auction has something to offer both golfers and non-golfers alike. Registration starts at 7:30 am (EST) and Shotgun Start/Scramble at 8:30 am(EST). The biennial Golf Classic initiated in 2018 is named in recognition of award-winning author, educator, and humanitarian Dr. Roberta Hughes Wright. Dr. Roberta Hughes Wright was the wife of The Wright Museum founder, Dr. Charles H. Wright. She remained involved in the Museum's activities and affairs until her passing, on April 2, 2019, at the age of 96. The establishment of the Roberta Hughes Wright Memorial Golf Classic exemplifies the Women's Committee's efforts to ensure the exploration of African American History and Culture through community involvement. Golf outing proceeds will provide unrestricted operating support and funding for educational programs at The Wright.
